Sunrise’s Natalie Barr, 52, gets a surprise designer dress in hotel quarantine

Sunrise newsreader Natalie Barr has just been reporting on the US election from Washington DC.

But on Friday, the 52-year-old proved her hotel quarantine has certainly not been uneventful after returning Down Under.

Taking to Instagram, Natalie showed herself getting a new dress from designer, Morrison, while stuck in her room.

Surprise! Sunrise newsreader Natalie Barr, 52, (pictured) got a surprise designer dress while in hotel quarantine following her return to Australia after the elections

‘Oh my goodness, someone has sent me something,’ Natalie said, showing herself opening the parcel.

She then showed a number of masks, a top and a dress from the designer.

‘This is so great. Perfect things to wear inside quarantine and out,’ she said, while panning over the clothes.

She recently battled unhappy fans who were upset she wasn’t ‘protecting herself’ in a behind-the-scenes photo from the White House.

Grateful: 'This is so great. Perfect things to wear inside quarantine and out,' she said of the clothes, while panning over them with the camera

Natalie was seen sitting on a stool in the corner of the White House press room, while surrounded by equipment.

She had a microphone in hand as she recorded a voice-over for a story. The photo was taken by Sunrise cameraman Beau Molloy.

Natalie joked in her caption: ‘The glamour.’

A follower wrote in the comments section: ‘By going to America to cover the election you are not protecting yourself [from] Covid.’

Natalie swiftly responded: ‘Yes I am, actually. Everywhere we go we wear masks as it’s compulsory here.’

She continued: ‘We wipe down everything with alcohol wipes. We use hand sanitiser and wash our hand constantly.’

It comes after Sunrise mysteriously changed its on-screen colour scheme to blue – the colour of the Democratic Party – while reporting on the election.

Natalie, who was reporting from the White House, even wore a light blue coat.

Back in the studio in Sydney, co-host David ‘Kochie’ Koch chose to wear a blue tie.

Meanwhile, Sunrise’s usual white and orange font was changed to blue and white.

Sam Armytage’s fill-in anchor, Monique Wright, wore a white dress for the occasion – and spoke in front of a backdrop graphic of the White House.
