Olivia added: ‘It’s horrible. It’s bullying in the most cowardly way.’

The actress continued: ‘I love my work, I really do. So I am trying to tell myself this is the unfortunate other side of the coin to it.

‘I love my work and the people I meet, I’m really lucky, as long as I protect myself from the other side of it I’m alright.’

It comes after Olivia admitted that she cannot remember her Oscar-winning speech after winning big at the 2019 Academy Awards.

The star won the award for Best Actress for her role In The Favourite, but her mind seemed to be a bit of blur as to what happened during her speech, in which she thanked her co-stars and crew.

‘I can’t remember what I said,’ she told Entertainment Tonight. ‘I only know because I’ve seen it played back now. I can’t remember what happened afterwards.

‘My husband said it was the best night of his life. And had it been the other way around, if I could have watched him, I understand. I would have loved that, and I would’ve remembered everything.

‘But I’m afraid I still can’t quite believe it happened.’

Olivia has since been nominated for Best Supporting Actress for her role In The Father at this year’s Oscars, which are due to take place on April 25.
