Lil Nas X has long been a not-so-secret Nicki Minaj stan (also known as ‘Barbz’), even admitting to running a stan account in her honor.
So the two-time Grammy winner’s choice for the perfect Halloween costume should come as no surprise.
He channeled 2010 Nicki Minaj as he rocked full drag Friday for his costume, recreating her look from the music video for her single Super Bass, from her debut studio album Pink Friday.

The 21-year-old put on a busty display in a skintight pink print bodysuit, while sporting a flat-ironed wig, half blonde and half pink.
He completed the look with some pink and yellow bangles and a pair of neon green stilettos, while straddling a motorcycle ice sculpture, much like the one from the video.
Lil Nas X captioned the photos ‘NAS MARAJ,’ referencing the name of his Nicki stan account, for which he finally claimed responsibility back in June.
After asking her to collab via Twitter, he responded to a follower who asked why he never owned up to being a Barb: ‘i didn’t want people to know i was gay tbh’

One comment argued that ‘being a barb don’t make you gay,’ to which he responded: ‘it don’t but people will assume if you had an entire fan page dedicated to nicki u are gay. and the rap/music industry ain’t exactly built or accepting of gay men yet.’
Nicki even chimed in, posting to Twitter: ‘It was a bit of a sting when you denied being a barb, but I understand. Congratulations on building up your confidence to speak your truth.’
The Old Town Road artist replied: ‘the generous queen, i love u. and i’m sorry i did that in a time where u were already getting so much bandwagon hate.

The ‘bandwagon hate’ he referred to was the backlash she faced amid her feud with Cardi B, who was quickly becoming famous at the time.
