Katherine Schwarzenegger reveals her sister Christina is a ‘very involved auntie’

They say it takes a village to raise a child. 

In an interview with People, Katherine Schwarzenegger revealed her younger sister Christina had become a ‘very involved auntie’ to her three-month-old daughter Lyla. 

The star, 30, was talking about the Christmas tradition she does with her sister, 29, every year, and her hopes of passing it down to her daughter in the future.

‘I always traditionally do a sleepover with my sister the night before Christmas Eve. I’m hoping that that’s something that I can continue doing and bring [Lyla] along to do it, which will be fun,’ she told the magazine.

The family then gathers at Maria Shriver’s house for Christmas Day celebrations.

‘We spend Christmas with my whole family and we’re at my mom [Maria Shriver]’s house and my dad [Arnold Schwarzenegger] comes over and we all meet there and spend the whole day there. And we’re just together, which is my favorite time of the year,’ she added.

However, the holidays will likely be much different this year, now with coronavirus in the picture.

The Schwarzeneggers live in Los Angeles, which is currently experiencing a spike in coronavirus cases.

And while Katherine says her family are ‘big mask wearers’ who ‘practice social distancing’, their holiday plans are still up in the air.

‘I think we have to wait to see as we go along because the numbers and the situation of what’s going on in the world seems to change everyday,’ Katherine told the site. 

‘So it’s figuring out what’s the safest and most realistic way of being able to be together, but also being able to be safe. And then also focusing on what matters, which is just being able to be grateful for our health and for life and celebrate that.’

Katherine and her husband Chris Pratt welcomed baby Lyla, their first child together, in August 2020, more than a year after tying the knot in Montecito, California.

On top of hunkering down with her family, Katherine also recently bonded with the Bella twins about motherhood.

The trio talked about postpartum depression on Instagram Live, and while Katherine never said she suffered from the condition, the twins did.

Chris also has an eight-year-old son called Jack Pratt by his first wife Anna Faris whom he was married to from 2009 to 2018.
