On Friday last week Melanie marked her 50th birthday by posing for an age-defying photo shoot in her own magazine Frank.

She also discussed life in lockdown with her two sons and how she has ‘no interest in settling’ for just any man.

Reflecting on the last decade, Melanie said it has been a time of growth for her both personally and professionally and it has not always been easy.

Although turning 50 single, Melanie said she’s in no rush to be in a relationship and is content with waiting for the right person.

She said: ‘I would love to find a good man to share my life with romantically. Sadly in all realms of life, most, not all, but most men are pretty basic and disappointing.

‘I don’t need a father for my kids, I don’t need to be financially supported and I’m not sure if I want too much domesticity with someone…I have no interest in just settling.’

Melanie was said to have been left ‘gutted’ when her relationship with Steve Coogan, 54, came to an end last year.

It’s said she began to grow increasingly concerned the Alan Partridge star didn’t want to settle down with her amid their largely low-key romance.

Speaking in Frank, the media personality also revealed she’s been thinking a lot about her 50s and discussed how she keeps her age-defying looks.

She explained how a mix of yoga, weights and ballet exercises are what she uses currently as well as trying to maintain a balanced diet and doing meditation.

Melanie added: ‘I would not rule out surgery in the future, if that’s what I want, I’ll do it. It’s my right to choose either way. I could not give a stuff about anybody else’s opinion.’
