MAFS star Liam Cooper shows off his dramatic weight loss after THAT fat-shaming video

Liam Cooper has shown off his dramatic weight loss transformation after a video of his co-star Jason Engler fat-shaming him made its rounds online.

Uploading a side-by-side photo, the Married At First Sight star, 30, said that he felt ‘destroyed’ after seeing the footage, and it left him ‘hating his body’.

Liam explained: ‘I’ve tried hard not to answer questions like this, but everyone keeps asking me and I want to be honest with everyone.’

Slimmed down: Married At First Sight’s Liam Cooper, 30, [pictured] took to Instagram to show off his dramatic weight loss on Wednesday

‘On the left was when I was filming (I believe it was final vows in November 2020), [and] the right was the after affect of that video, [recently].’

‘To me, my body was normal. I was healthy and I was happy. Yes, some might say hippy but i’ve always had hips, most men do.’

He continued: ‘That video destroyed me, It has left me hating my body.’

‘I hated when people touched me. It affected my mental health, I became self-conscious, and I didn’t know the Liam I was looking at.’

Liam’s shock transformation comes just days after Liam uploaded a leaked video of Jason using homophobic language and calling him ‘chubby’.

The footage had been filmed during a boozy night out in November, and was first  published by Daily Mail Australia on April 5.

‘People may hate me for doing this, but I feel that it’s important to speak out about it and hopefully educate a few people about how harmful this can be,’ he wrote.

‘When I found out about the video, it made me feel sick! Not only because it affected me, but because the person I loved Georgia [Fairweather] and one of my close mates Johnny [Balbuziente], thought it was funny to laugh, make comments and not defend me or the LGBTQIA+ community.’

In the two-minute clip, Jason calls Liam a ‘full-blown homosexual’ – even though he has made it clear he is attracted to both women and men – and ridicules him for ‘not going to the gym’.

The video in question was filmed and uploaded to Georgia’s Instagram account in November as she, Jason and Johnny were catching up Brisbane.

Jason’s hurtful comments were made three days before Liam and Georgia filmed their final vows – which hadn’t yet aired on TV at the time Daily Mail Australia published the video – and all but confirmed the couple’s split.

The video begins with Jason – who is shirtless, wearing two pairs of sunglasses and holding a glass of white wine – saying: ‘Cheers to everyone. Can I just say one thing right now?

‘He is not one hundred and ten per cent anymore… I wouldn’t give a s**t anymore, because we’re free and we’re going to run amok in Brisbane.’

Georgia can be heard saying off camera: ‘Jason, tell them what you’re talking about.’

‘Can I say Georgia’s husband, a**, w**ker, I can’t remember what his name is – Liam – is 110 per cent and is a wanker and Georgia is better than him.’

‘He’s ugly, fat, and he is chubby,’ Jason continues.

‘I’m by the pool and just want to say Georgia’s husband is full-blown homosexual. He is ugly and chubby and doesn’t go to the gym.’

Jason later apologised for what he said in the video, after he was approached for comment.

‘I would like to sincerely apologise for my comments in regards to a fellow MAFS participant’s sexuality,’ he told Daily Mail Australia.

‘After a few too many drinks I made some inappropriate remarks that I am ashamed of and greatly regret. I will learn from this and try to become a better person from this experience.’
