Martha Kalifatidis convinces a mechanic to fix her car for FREE because she’s a ‘celebrity’

Married At First Sight star Martha Kalifatidis is one of the most successful participants to come off the show, who now has a budding influencer career and an upcoming stint on The Celebrity Apprentice.

And on Friday, Martha, 33, used her star status to score a freebie with her local mechanic.

The former makeup artist managed to convince a mechanic to fix her damaged car for FREE in exchange for an Instagram shout out.

‘I’m important!’ On Friday, Married At First Sight star Martha Kalifatidis managed to convince a mechanic to fix her car for FREE because she’s a ‘celebrity’

She convinced the mechanic to fix her car that same day by saying she’s a ‘celebrity’ and that she’s ‘important.’

Unbeknown to the mechanic, Martha was actually asking for the freebie as part of a hilarious challenge while appearing on Nova’s Fitzy and Wippa.

It was all a ruse, or friendly competition between Martha and Wippa to see who can use their star status to get a freebie, as they both will appear on The Celebrity Apprentice soon. They wanted to see who is actually a celebrity.

‘I’ve kissed someone with my car, it’s a little peck, just a little dent and I really need it fixed just like A.S.A.P,’ Martha told the mechanic.

After she said she needs it done urgently and the mechanic told her she’d have to wait, Martha pulled out the celebrity card.

‘I don’t know how to say this but basically, I’m Martha. I have a huge following on Instagram, you might actually know me, I’m on buses all over Sydney right now,’ she said.

‘I’m going to be on that show called The Celebrity Apprentice.’

She added: ‘But what about for a celebrity dude. Surely you can just push us to the front, I’ve got selfie’s and s**t to take, I’m important!’

The mechanic held firm and said she would have to wait a week for repairs, when she said she would put his response on Instagram.

The mechanic then changed his tune and obliged to fixing her car on the day and for free.

‘You’ll give us a shout out right?’ he asked, before Martha said she would on Instagram.

She added: 'But what about for a celebrity dude. Surely you can just push us to the front, I've got selfie's and s**t to take, I'm important!'

Wippa then also tried the challenge, but failed to convince a woman who was answering the calls at a local service centre.

‘I feel like everyone is over unboxing but this is what we have… and I’m pretty sure there’s stuff at the back and the front door,’ Martha began as she revealed her dining room table filled with goodies.

She also got a  $68 waist trainer and a $145 maxi dress from Bumpsuit, which was created by Australian model Nicole Trunfio.

Back in October 2019, Martha talked about her influencing career but refused to say how much she gets paid per post.

Speaking to The Daily Telegraph, she said: ‘I feel like talking about money and figures is a little bit crass.’

‘I’d be embarrassed to say, not because it’s too low or high, but then people start to do the numbers.’

She added: ‘So much goes into it (posting photos).’

‘I think influencers do get a bit of a bad rap.’

At the time, the website InfluencerFree, which calculates how much an influencer is worth based on the amount of followers they have, estimated that Martha earns around $700 for each sponsored post.
