Morgan York is opening up about why she decided to leave the acting world after appearing in the likes of the Miley Cyrus-led sitcom Hannah Montana as a teenager.
The former Disney star, 28, recently admitted in a TikTok video that it just ‘wasn’t fun anymore’ and that her passion for acting ‘did not outweigh all the costs.’
‘I started acting when I was nine and from the beginning, my mom told me, “The second this becomes not fun or you want to stop, you can stop,”‘ York recalled.

She went on to say that she never expected acting to be a ‘lifetime thing’ for herself, even while in the midst of Hollywood as a child.
‘I even remember as a kid trying to imagine myself as an adult actor and just not seeing it. I saw myself stopping acting at the very least when I started college and then just never going back,’ Morgan explained.
York famously starred in Hannah Montana as Miley Stewart’s quirky classmate Sarah, whom the cast often referred to as ‘Saint Sarah’ on the hit Disney Channel series.
Prior to that, she appeared in the Cheaper By The Dozen film reboots, which saw her performing alongside the likes of Steve Martin and Hilary Duff.

She also snagged a role in the Vin Diesel-led family comedy film The Pacifier in 2005.
Although she did not plan to pursue acting into adulthood, York told her TikTok following that she ‘wildly underestimated how much of an uproar would be made over’ her sudden departure.
‘I thought I could just leave and nobody would ask me for the next 11 years of my life, “Why did you quit acting?” But yeah, it wasn’t fun anymore.

As opposed to acting, York’s passion for writing fiction proved to be ‘much stronger and it was something I preferred.’
Morgan fell in love with writing when she was in the fourth grade, with the former actress telling her TikTok following that storytelling ‘boosted her confidence.’
‘Writing was something I already really liked and it really boosted my confidence and made me think, ‘Oh, maybe I would be really good at writing books.’

‘I actually started writing my ‘first book” that year,’ revealed York, who is currently in the midst of writing her seventh novel.
Although she has not ‘had luck in the publishing department yet,’ the Cheaper By The Dozen star said she ‘has confidence’ that her stories will find mainstream success.
As for if she keeps in touch with her former Hannah Montana costars, Morgan admitted to her followers that she has not ‘spoken to any of the Hannah Montana cast since 2010.’

‘The only way that I could have really interacted with my Hannah Montana costars at this point is on social media,’ she explained.
‘I follow all of them and I don’t think any of them follow me, which, like, that’s fine. They are famous.
‘They either don’t remember me or they have so many followers that they don’t even know I’m one of them. It’s not personal,’ York concluded.
