Matty J and Laura Byrne confess they’re worried about ‘not doing a good job’ as parents

They’re doting parents to two young daughters, one-year-old Marlie-Mae and 15-week-old Lola.

But The Bachelor’s Matty J and Laura Byrne have admitted social media sometimes makes them feel they’re ‘not doing a very good job’ compared to other parents.

‘Sometimes it feels and looks like other parents are just totally killing it,’ Byrne, 35, confessed to The Daily Telegraph on Friday.

Having ‘just figured out one kid’, the reality TV couple joked that they decided to challenge themselves with a second.

However, despite the ‘time-demanding’ nature of the task, Matty said in some ways two kids is easier than one.

‘I think we can learn a lot more autonomously because we just know a lot more,’ said the marketing manager, 33.

But Byrne is ultimately realistic about how she stacks up to other parents, commenting, ‘You realise you don’t have any idea what you’re doing and nobody else does, either.’

The comments come after Laura revealed the pair aren’t rushing to have any more children, and are instead prioritising their wedding.

‘No more babies until we get married!’ the jewellery designer told Who magazine.

The reality TV lovebirds, who got engaged in April 2019, are also parents to older daughter Marlie-Mae, who is nearly two.

Last month, Matty told the same publication he and Laura were ready for their wedding waltz after his appearance on Dancing with the Stars.

‘I’m treating the wedding dance as serious as I was for the competition,’ he said.

‘I cannot wait to put together the choreography together for the wedding dance.’

He added that wedding guests will be treated to a professional performance after their nuptials.

‘I’m thinking it would be nice to do a little medley to start off with, something slow and romantic like a waltz, and then it would be nice to transition into something fun like a samba,’ he said.

Matty and Laura are yet to confirm an exact wedding date.

However, during an Instagram Q&A session in March, Laura revealed they would be tying the knot in late 2021.

‘We’ve just got ourselves a wonderful wedding planner @kashayaco because we have zero time… but we are getting married at the end of this year,’ she wrote.

The podcast host also referenced her fiancé’s role on Dancing with the Stars, adding: ‘At least Matt now has the wedding dance in the bag.’
