Angie Kent says she deserves more than ’15 minutes of fame’ because she’s multi-talented and can have her fingers ‘in different pies’


Angie Kent has hit back at critics who claim her ’15 minutes of fame’ have well and truly expired. 

The reality star-turned-podcaster, who shot to fame on Gogglebox in 2015, told the Herald Sun on Wednesday that she’s entitled to a long career in the spotlight as she’s proven her talent in multiple fields within he entertainment industry.  

‘I feel women can have their fingers in different pies…. you can be on television and write a book and have a podcast,’ the former Bachelorette star said.

‘I think Australians love to say ’15 minutes of fame’. Is it 15 minutes of fame or is it a chance to explore and do something you’re good at?’ 

Angie, who is on the publicity trail for her debut podcast Angie Tries It, insisted that the future of her career isn’t for others to decide.  

‘People have watched me on TV and now I get to do what I want to do with that experience,’ she said.

She first graced our screens on Gogglebox from 2015 to 2018 with her then-housemate Yvie Jones.

After quitting the show in 2019, they joined season five of I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here!

Later that year Angie went on to be cast as The Bachelorette and found love with Carlin Sterritt, but they eventually called it quits in June 2020.

Soon after her Bachelorette stint she also released her memoir – If You Don’t Laugh You’ll Cry: Life and love from either side of the TV screen.

She also went on to take compete on Channel 10’s Dancing With The Stars last year. 

In addition to TV, the blonde beauty many other area’s of her career are thriving, including her sponsored content on Instagram for brands like Nissan, Mentos and Liddells Lactose Free Dairy.

She is also set to start in her first film, an Australian-produced horror film called The Possessed, alongside former Home and Away star Lincoln Lewis – set for release in August.

The actress told the publication of her career pivot: ‘It’s not something I really planned … it all just kind of happened. I put the call out to the universe and it delivered.’

Angie recently surprised fans by launching a Try Guys-inspired podcast called Angie Tries It, produced by Nova Podcasts.
