Will Smith is back in the gym after piling on the pounds during the Covid-19 pandemic.

The 52-year-old actor shared snaps with his Instagram followers on Friday ahead of his workout session, along with a caption that read: ‘Back to square one. Lookin like a circle. Let’s get it!!’

Smith was dressed in a pair of black pants and a white shirt that included a reference to his time on the hit sitcom The Fresh Prince Of Bel-Air. 

He also included a close-up shot of his face to accompany the full-size photo.

It comes just days after the action hero publicly revealed he’s in the ‘worst shape’ of his life and vowed to get buff again.

On Monday, the Independence Day star shared a picture of himself standing in front of a small pond while leaving his sweater open-faced to show off his body to his 53.3 million followers.

Although he appeared to be having a good time in the shot, the performer was not so optimistic in the caption, where he wrote: ‘I’m gonna be real wit yall – I’m in the worst shape of my life.’

Several of Smith’s followers left notes in the comments section to offer words of encouragement to the actor, including Questlove, who proclaimed the photo to be the ‘the most amazing post in the history of social media.’

The following day, the actor shared a photo without the sweater to give his fans a better look at his body and to announce that he was committed to changing it entirely.

The Suicide Squad actor also wrote a lengthy message to let his followers know exactly how he felt about his physique and why he wanted to lose weight. 

He noted, ‘This is the body that carried me through an entire pandemic and countless days grazing thru the pantry. I love this body, but I wanna FEEL better. No more midnight muffins…this is it!’ 

Smith also noted that he had partnered with YouTube in order to document his weight loss experience.

The forthcoming series is tentatively titled Best Shape Of My Life, and production is currently underway.

In a statement via CNN, the producers of the forthcoming YouTube show noted that viewers would see the actor ‘rebuilding his body into the best shape of his life and getting his groove back along the way.’ 

The upcoming six-part series will be produced by Smith’s Westbrook Media and will feature several guests, including medical experts and athletes.

Best Shape Of My Life currently does not have a set debut date. 

Smith’s first show for YouTube, entitled Will Smith: The Jump, was a major success for the platform and received millions of views within the first 48 hours of its release.
