Brad Pitt gives a shout out to pal Leonardo DiCaprio while presenting at the 93rd Oscars

Brad Pitt snuck in a shout out to good friend Leonardo DiCaprio while presenting at the 93rd Academy Awards.

All eyes were on the dapper 57-year-old actor as he took the stage to hand out the Best Supporting Actress trophy to Minari star Yuh-jung Youn, but it was easy to miss the quick nod to his Once Upon a Time in Hollywood co-star.

‘My love of movies began at the local drive-in, watching the likes of Clint Eastwood and Godzilla. Our nominees for best supporting actress also fell in love with movies at an early age,’ he began his speech about what made all of the nominees fall in love with film.

‘Yuh-jung Youn fell in love with the movies through the work of actresses like Maggie Smith and directors Robert Altman and Mike Leigh,’ he continued before getting to the big moment.

‘For Amanda Seyfried, it was the film version of Romeo and Juliet — the Leo version,’ Pitt said, referencing the 1996 William Shakespeare adaptation that first turned DiCaprio into a big-screen heartthrob.

‘Me too,’ he added before the A-list audience burst into laughter.

The Baz Luhrmann-directed drama grossed over $150M at the box office upon its release and earned the star Best Actor awards at the Berlin International Film Festival and Blockbuster Entertainment Awards.

The Fight Club performer has been outspoken about his adoration of the star since they worked on the acclaimed Quentin Tarantino epic in 2019.

Pitt earned the Best Supporting Actor award at the 92nd Oscars for his portrayal of Cliff Booth in the film.

During his speech that night, he paid tribute to DiCaprio during his acceptance speech.

‘I’ll ride on your coattails any day. The view’s fantastic,’ he said, addressing the Titanic actor in the audience.

Pitt rocked a classic black tuxedo for the big night with a black suit coat, white dress shirt, black bow tie, black pants and black shoes.

His long blonde hair was pulled back into a small pony tail as he presented Youn with her first Oscar. 

She began her speech by marveling at simply meeting Pitt for the first time, as Pitt would later lead her off the stage after winning her first Oscar.

He chatted with her briefly while walking back stage with the actress before the telecast cut to commercial.

Pitt will next be seen in Bullet Train, Lost City of D and Babylon, while Leo’s next rumored project also has ties to Sunday’s award ceremony. 

The 46-year-old is reportedly being eyed for the lead role in an English-language version of best international feature film winner Another Round.

A remake of the Danish drinking dramedy starring Mads Mikkelsen, 55, is already in the works, according to Variety.

There is no official casting deal in place, but DiCaprio’s production company Appian Way has the rights to the story. 

The original’s writer/director Thomas Vinterberg will executive produce the film, which follows a gang of four friends who embark on a boozy-filled experiment to see if keeping up their blood alcohol content level could change their lives for the better.
