Stacey Solomon reveals her wedding plans have been put on hold since moving house

Stacey Solomon has revealed she has not got any further with planning her impending nuptials to Joe Swash since he proposed.

The couple are due to get married in the garden of their ‘Pickle Cottage’ home in Essex while Stacey, 31, is also busy trying to juggle her work commitments on Loose Women and her new clothing range with In The Style.

Asked how she does it all, the TV star told OK! magazine: ‘I just don’t do it all! My wedding has not got any further from when I started planning it last year. We didn’t foresee moving house.’

Big day: Stacey Solomon has revealed she has not got any further with planning her impending nuptials to Joe Swash since he proposed

Stacey explained she and Joe, 39, couldn’t pass up the opportunity to purchase the £1.2million pad when it came on the market but it has meant they are now ‘behind on everything’.

With restrictions still in place on social gatherings like weddings, Stacey expects she and Joe will have a subdued affair at home.

She said: ‘It will just be me, Joe, my family and the rabbi in the garden at this rate. No food, no disco, nothing. So I’ve not sorted out my wedding and I’ve not sorted out this house.’

The mother-of-three added that her responsibilities are made easier by the support of her family, including her dad David who helps with childcare and her sister Jemma who does some of the school runs.

She said: ‘I couldn’t do it all on my own. I might never get another job so I’ve got to take the opportunities while they’re there.’

Stacey added that she hasn’t totally made up her mind on her wedding dress but thinks she wants a capped sleeve with a ‘not-too-low neckline’ and a ‘floaty’ skirt.

Stacey has been documenting her renovation work at her new Essex pad to Instagram, after moving into the property earlier this year with Joe and her three sons Zachary, 13, and Leighton, eight, and Rex, 23 months.

The TV star has been doing many of the DIY improvements on her new home herself and recently unveiled her impressive bathroom makeover.

She updated the vintage-style room with a slick of blue paint, white panels and accessories from both Dunelm and Primark.

Capturing the interior design progress to her Instagram account, Stacey explained how she updated the space and attached links to all of the products she purchased.

She captured her new bathroom items, all in a soft golden tone, including a £10 toilet brush holder, a £12 brass towel ring and a £10 brass toilet roll holder.

The former X-Factor contestant also invested in a £5 Egyptian cotton hand towel in a blue colour, in-keeping with the serene bathroom decor.

Showing off her new wooden corner shelves purchased on Amazon, Stacey detailed how to mount the items on the wall.

She said: ‘Screw on the base (screw each screw in a little bit to make sure they’re in the right place before screwing them all tightly). Shelf on [tick emoji], accessories [tick emoji].’

She completed the new shelf unit with ivory candles from Dunelm and a Primark vase filled with pampas grass.

In a separate clip uploaded to her Instagram, Stacey explained the panelling process to her 4.3million followers while acknowledging her over-excitement.

She joked: ‘I am fully aware of how unnecessarily excited I am, I can’t help it. So I’m going to panel the bottom half with these MDF panels and No More Nails.

‘And paint the top half a nice blue colour to match the sink. I cut in and painted. I prefer cutting in without tape, I tried both today and I’m neater without tape.’

Stacey continued: ‘Then I put no more nails on the back of the cladding and just put them up trying to make sure I got the grooves in tightly.

‘I started from the toilet pipe in here because I couldn’t get behind it, so I need to saw two pieces to fit on the ends.’

Earlier this month, Stacey revealed she will be able to marry her fiancé in the garden of their home.

The Loose Women presenter had previously spoken about how her wedding plans were in chaos because after booking a venue for later in the year, they had bought their dream home named ‘Pickle Cottage’.

And taking to social media on Sunday, Stacey told her followers that she has been given the green light to start planning her back garden wedding.

Stacey told her fans that she is ‘so excited’ to be able to host the ceremony at her home and revealed that she and Joe have already been discussing the set-up of their special day.

The presenter shared a short video of her garden and wrote: ‘So after lots of thinking, wondering, phone calls and then crazy rearranging we were so excited to hear tonight that we can definitely have our wedding ceremony at home.

‘We are having a little ready minute walking around the garden with the boys thinking where things might be [sic].’

Stacey had clearly already mulled over some ideas about their big day, as she said they were ‘thinking of walking down the woodland walk’ for their vows.

She also considered having the reception in the old barn and told her fans: ‘I honestly can not wait to hear your advice, your wedding stories and share this whole adventure with you all [sic].’
