Chadwick Boseman’s widow Simone Ledward Boseman stuns in a custom pink Atelier Versace gown while attending the 93rd Oscars

Chadwick Boseman was nominated for his first Oscar for his final role in Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom, with his widow Simone Ledward Johnson arriving to the Oscars to accept the award on his behalf, if he had won.

The 29-year-old attended the awards ceremony at Union Station in downtown Los Angeles on Sunday night, though her late husband lost out to Anthony Hopkins for The Father.

Ledward had previously accepted Boseman’s wins at the Golden Globes, Critics Choice Awards and Screen Actors Guild Awards for his portrayal of Levee in Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom.

Ledward Boseman looked simply stunning in a custom pink Atelier Versace gown, with jewelry from Bulgari for her Oscar look.

Versace revealed that the gown was, ‘crafted from 35 meters of coral silk cady and georgette, the dress elegantly drapes around the body.’

The dress took over 260 hours to construct with another 300 hours for the embroidery.

The design is, ‘enriched with 20.000 Swarovski accents that give off a marble effect,’ with an ‘additional touch of gold’ with an embroidered band defines the neckline and balances the gown’s volume.’

Simone’s longtime stylist, Ashley P. Weston, also shared snaps of Simone’s look on Instagram, along with a heartfelt message.

‘Thank you, Chadwick, for surrounding us with your love tonight,’ the stylist began in her Instagram caption.

‘Everything about today felt so right. Simone Ledward Boseman in custom Atelier @Versace and @Bulgari’ Weston added. 

Weston went on to thank Donatella Versace, Pat Chong and Kristina Musailov, ‘for making this moment so special for us.’

She also added that Ledward Boseman’s glam was done by Saisha Beecham’ while adding hashtags #AWerk @chadwickboseman #ChadwickBoseman.

Boseman lost the Best Actor Oscar to Anthony Hopkins for The Father, who wasn’t present at the ceremony, and took home his second Oscar after The Silence of the Lambs.

The late Boseman was nominated alongside Gary Oldman for Mank, Riz Ahmed for Sound of Metal and Steven Yeun for Minari. 

Boseman suddenly passed away in August at just 43 years of age from stage IV colon cancer, which he was originally diagnosed with in 2016.
