The Voice: Blake Shelton gets teased for looking exactly the same for past 10 years on NBC show

Blake Shelton has barely changed his outfit in 10 years his fellow coaches revealed on Monday’s final battle rounds of The Voice.

The 44-year-old country star was ribbed by his castmates at the show’s start as they observed he’d been wearing gray outfits for the past decade.

‘Do we think it’s the same outfit every time?’ asked Nick Jonas, 28, as Blake’s clothes from all 20 seasons of The Voice were shown.

It was an endless parade of gray shirts, vests and blazers, one after the other, after the other.

‘I’m leaving soon, so I could be the bad guy and say he looks the same, and he has for 10 years,’ offered Kelsea Ballerini, 27, who’d been filling in for an ailing Kelly Clarkson, 38.

‘You would think Gwen would help him,’ Nick opined, referring to Blake’s fiancée Gwen Stefani, 51.

‘Bedazzle him a little?’ wondered John Legend, 42.

‘Maybe the inside is bedazzled,’ Kelsea suggested, eyeballing Blake’s clothes. ‘I’m sure she’s tried.’

In one notable instance Blake did change his look to something a little more colorful.

During a preview of next week’s show, he tried on a rainbow-hued jacket to match the show’s surprising new mega-mentor: Rapper Snoop Dogg, 49.

Before that, the battle rounds got underway and the coaches firmed up their final teams.

Team Legend began by pairing two of its most soulful singers on a stripped-down cover of Usher’s You Got It Bad.

Deion Warren, 28, from Conway, North Carolina, had what John called ‘natural charisma,’ and it served him well in his duet with honey-voiced Victor Solomon, 22, from Peoria, Illinois.

As a unit their mellifluous tone was so enchanting that John joked that they’d made him look good in front of his advisor, Brandy Norwood, 42.

‘Victor and Deion, they have similar voices—rasps, runs, clean, soul, gospel, all of it,’ Brandy marveled. ‘But you can’t have both of them. So John, good luck.’

She advised the men to save their voices and stay quiet before their performance, which John said he often did—though wife Chrissy Teigen, 35, occasionally thought something was wrong.

On a video chat with Victor and Deion, Chrissy piped up, ‘I love Usher. Did somebody say Usher?’

Onstage the two men were a fearsome duo, each wearing the same hat, doing the same moves and matching each other vocally.

John ultimately picked Victor, telling him, ‘This was better than I expected.’

Team Legend’s second battle paired two uniquely mesmerizing voices on Goyte’s Somebody That I Used to Know.

The strong vocals of Carolina Rial, 17, from Ridgfield, NJ, sounded wonderfully clean against the muddier, deeper sound of Rio Doyle, 17, from Adrian, Michigan.

Listening to them brought Brandy to tears.

‘You guys are stars,’ she said. ‘You guys are singing from your soul, too. Everybody don’t sing from their soul. But it’s moved me.’

The incredible duet onstage by the teenagers made it impossible for John to choose one person, so he initially picked Rio, then saved Carolina for his team.

In its first battle, Team Kelly was looking for ‘artistry,’ and thought it might be found in the Amy Winehouse song You Know I’m No Good.

It was a ‘favorite’ of Ainae, 21, from Washington, DC, who knew it so well it allowed her voice to shine as she battled Anna Grace, 21, from Milwaukee.

Anna Grace’s vocal runs wowed advisor Luis Fonsi, 42, who praised her ‘incredible’ control.

Kelly cautioned both women not to rely on vocal pyrotechnics, suggesting instead that they start off measured and raw then allow the song to reach a crescendo.

Anna Grace called up the anger she’d felt after thrice being diagnosed with septic shock, and used it to power her voice.

Kelly opined that Anna Grace was ‘far more talented than she even knows,’ and on battle day her emissary, Kelsea, selected her.

For her second battle, Kelly chose the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band’s Fishing In The Dark.

She hoped it would push JD Casper, 28, from Austin, Texas, and Kenzie Wheeler, 22, from Dover, Florida, out of their comfort zones.

‘Kenzie, I just don’t think you know how good you are,’ Kelsea said, picking him after the battle and calling his talent ‘undeniable.’

Team Nick went with Harry Styles’ Adore You for its first battle, with Nick saying the song ‘lives and breathes in the groove.’

He felt that Andrew Marshall, 21, from Boxford, Massachusetts, and Raine Stern, 22, from Madison, Wisconsin, were ‘born to perform’ it as they had both warmth and flexibility.

‘Raine clearly has a confidence and a conviction that is intriguing me,’ observed advisor Darren Criss, 34, who asked to sign up for her ‘swag lessons.’

Raine imagined singing the song to her girlfriend Lydia, and Nick chose her on battle day after calling her ‘phenomenal.’

‘You both deserve to be here,’ he told the pair.

Blake swooped in and stole Andrew, whom he had considered the battle’s true winner.

In his second battle, Nick highlighted his team’s freshness by pairing two young contestants on Sir Elton John’s Your Song.

Sweet-voiced Rachel Mac, 16, from Romeo, Michigan, went up against musical theater vet Bradley Sinclair, 22, from Rockford, Michigan.

Rachel, who’d been bullied in school, was comforted by the song and brought that connection to it onstage, earning Team Nick’s last slot.

For his final round, Team Blake assigned John Hiatt’s Have A Little Faith In Me to two singers steeped in Americana.

Country artist Savanna Chestnut, 25, from Americus, Kansas, faced off against Blake’s onetime bandmate Pete Mroz, 45, from Nashville, who had a textured voice.

Advisor Shay Mooney, 29, of Dan + Shay, warned Savanna not to hide herself onstage.

‘You’re singing right now like you’re almost afraid to get in the way of the music,’ he warned.

Indeed, Savanna’s lack of confidence did her in on battle day, and Blake chose Pete.

‘You were a great singer 25 years ago when we were in Young Riders together, and you’re still a great singer,’ Blake told Pete.

The Voice will return next week on NBC.
