Rebecca Zemek brutally snubbed ‘husband’ Jake Edwards when he went in for a kiss on Wednesday’s episode of Married At First Sight.

And less than 24 hours on from the awkward encounter airing nationwide, an insider has revealed why the 27-year-old shut him down.

Speaking to Daily Mail Australia, the on-set spy said it was because of an unpleasant encounter between the pair in the lead up to the scene.

‘So they walked in and there were chocolates,’ they said. ‘Bec bit into one and went to feed Jake one, too, but he turned his head and instead put his hand out.

‘It was very awkward, and that’s when the pair went outside and he tried to go in for the kiss.’ 

The insider added that Bec felt like their ‘communication was shot after trying really hard to talk to him all morning.’

‘She did try really hard to talk to him all morning, but every time she asked a question she ended up feeling confused because his answers didn’t make sense,’ they said.

‘Apparently, he was hearing something else – it was so awkward.’

The business manager reportedly ended up feeling ‘so overwhelmed’ during the moment he tried to kiss her she burst into tears when she walked away. 

‘Bec walked away crying because she felt so overwhelmed,’ the insider said. ‘She felt communication was shot and she was getting the worst vibes.

‘He ended up going into her room, where she asked him what made him feeling like kissing her and he said it was because of “a nice view”. She was really p***ed off by that.’

On Wednesday’s episode of Married At First Sight, the former footballer, 32, went in for a kiss while the pair admired the view of the Hunter Valley on their honeymoon.

Bec who has been described as a ‘budget Bec Judd’ – turned away, just like Judd did when Tony Jones during tried to kiss her on TV.

During a now-famous August 2016 Channel Nine news bulletin, Judd, 38, rejected Tony’s advances as he leaned in to kiss her on the cheek before she went on maternity leave. 

Judd quickly turned her cheek away, laughing awkwardly, before staring at the camera with a forced smile plastered on her face, before simply saying: ‘Okay.’
