It comes after Amber ended her relationship with Rory after being told by MailOnline that he was jailed for four years in 2017 for beating up two doormen, leaving one in hospital.

Amber and Rory, 29, were pictured together during a holiday in Thailand last January, where she was captured on Instagram stories with her legs on him and he had his hand on her thigh.

A friend of Amber’s told MailOnline how the pair were in the early stages of a relationship but she’s now split with Rory after hearing about his convictions.

‘Amber broke down today when she was told about Rory and his past. She had no idea about any of this,’ a source said.

‘Amber has been in the early stages of dating someone and this has come as a big shock to her.

‘Understandably it’s caused her a great deal of upset and stress as it’s all come out of the blue.

‘This has completely thrown Amber and she just wants to be surrounded by friends and family for their love and support.’

Rory, from Yorkshire, has a son from a previous relationship and now runs a ‘designer dog grooming’ business called, Miniature Designer Bullies.

He was tried at Leeds Crown Court for the attack that took place at Club Mission in March 2015 along with two others.

The assault occurred when Rory was 23-years-old and the victim of the same age was left in a ‘critical condition.’

Rory was pictured in CCTV stills and his ‘distinctive undercut hairstyle’ was referenced in a 2015 BBC news article that appealed for the men to come forward.

He pleaded not guilty on April 18, 2017, but was sentenced to three years and four months imprisonment for wounding with intent and eight months concurrent for attempting to cause GBH with intent.

Amber, who won Love Island and became a millionaire in 2019 following lucrative deals with the likes of fashion brand MissPap, recently admitted she was ‘very happy’ in the relationship.

A source revealed to MailOnline that Amber met Rory while the pair were both on holiday in Thailand in January 2020 and they shared mutual friends.

They were pictured looking close in a story shared by Love Island star and Amber’s close pal Kaz Crossley. Rory is seen smiling in the sunshine while wearing a long gold chain.

It is believed the pair also spent time together in Dubai, where Amber relocated to in December, with Rory pictured on a friend’s profile at the FIVE Palm Jumeirah Hotel the same month.

Amber recently confirmed she was in a relationship and that the pair met before the first national lockdown last March.

In January, she said: ‘I’m not single and ready to mingle, that’s all I’m saying. It’s someone I’ve known from before it’s not somebody I’ve known from lockdown onwards. But yes I’m happy, I’m really happy.’

Rory doesn’t have a personal Instagram profile, but he is on the network with a business account for his dog grooming company.

While Amber doesn’t follow the account for Rory’s dog business, she follows and likes photos on an Instagram page called Designer Bullies World that is thought to be in association with his work and run by a close friend.

She also follows the profile of Ishmael Davis, a pal of Rory’s who posted a photo of them together in Dubai last year alongside the caption: ‘From the beginning until the end.’

Amber won Love Island in 2019 with Irishman Greg O’Shea, 25, but the pair split just five weeks after sharing the £50K cash prize.

The reality star has been linked to several love interests since finding fame.

In early 2020, she was linked to England footballer Fikayo Tomori, 23, after the pair flirted on Instagram, and she was forced to deny reports she was dating her personal trainer Jon Hosking, 28, in December.

In January, Amber said men are often ‘intimidated’ by her strength and independence but that has helped her settle with the right partner.

She said: ‘… But I like that, I think it’s a good thing, because you weed out the ones you don’t want anyway.

‘If I am going to get with somebody then they need to be very confident and sure within themselves so it just means that the ones that are intimidated, they get found out quite quickly and I don’t waste my time.’
