People from around the world have shared the durable household items which have withstood the test of time.  

Shared by social media users on the Reddit BuyItForLife thread and collated by BoredPanda, this fascinating online gallery shows that new does not necessarily mean better. 

The pictures include an 100-year-old Singer sewing machine, a fully functioning fridge from the 1940s, a working original GameBoy and a Kitchenaid mixer from the 1970s.
