The awkward moment Kyle Sandilands probes Gladys Berejiklian on her ‘barren’ love life – after her romance with disgraced ex MP Daryl Maguire was exposed at corruption inquiry
Kyle Sandilands left NSW Premier Gladys Berejiklian lost for words on Thursday morning during a very awkward radio segment.
Gladys had appeared on KIIS FM’s Kyle And Jackie Show to discuss state borders reopening amid the COVID-19 pandemic, but it wasn’t long before Kyle began probing into her personal life.
‘How’s the love life going? That’s dried up, no doubt,’ the shock-jock teased.
Rather than answering, red-faced Gladys erupted into a fit of laughter.
Kyle continued: ‘You’ve been too busy for romance, you’re not jumping onto [dating apps like] ChristianMatch or anything, haven’t you?’
In true politician style, Gladys answered Kyle’s questions with her own.

‘Have you been cross-examining Jackie on that? Jackie, is there anything to tell?’ she asked Kyle’s co-host Jackie ‘O’ Henderson’.
Jackie, who has remained single since splitting from her ex-husband Lee Henderson in 2018, sighed: ‘Nothing, nothing at all.’
Gladys took the opportunity to change the topic of conversation to Kyle’s well-documented romance with Tegan Kynaston.

‘We all read about Kyle’s [love life],’ she smiled.
However, it didn’t take long for the radio star to bring the conversation back to the original topic.
‘So, no news to report on the home life… and nothing for Jackie as well. It’s a barren wasteland for you two,’ Kyle joked.

It comes after Kyle says he has more respect for Gladys after learning about her secret relationship with disgraced former MP Daryl Maguire last year.
Gladys began a close personal relationship with the ex Wagga Wagga MP in 2015, but was forced to sack him in 2018 after learning he was allegedly making dodgy deals.

However, Gladys continued the ‘close personal relationship’ until last September, when she learned she would be required give evidence at an Independent Commission Against Corruption inquiry.
During the inquiry in October last year, Gladys conceded she had ‘stuffed up’ in her personal life.
However, Kyle said Gladys had nothing to apologise for.
‘I thought she was a mad lesbian… didn’t think there would be a man on the scene. I admire the woman greatly for her outstanding job and two – she’s got game – she’s getting a little bit of D. I like that,’ he said on-air at the time.
