Recruiter Page Group’s gross profits tumbled by a fifth for the end of 2020 – hit hard by the pandemic and Brexit fears.
It reported a 20.2 per cent fall to £165.5 million in the fourth quarter. Fees in the UK, which accounts for 13 per cent of the overall group, dipped by more than a third to £21 million – an improvement on the 47.9 per cent tumble in the third quarter, but it still meant a full-year drop of 40.1 per cent to £81 million.
Its UK staff headcount is 1,175. Group gross profit fell 28.2 per cent to £609.7 million. Steve Ingham, chief executive, said: ‘In the UK we are encouraged that Brexit has provided a degree of clarity.’
