2020 MTV EMAs: Winnie Harlow wears dresses with thigh-high slits

She’s the Instagram sensation who shot to fame on America’s Next Top Model in 2014.

And Winnie Harlow, 26, looked incredible as she made an appearance to present best Latin Act at Sunday’s virtual MTV Europe Music awards

Appearing via video link from Los Angeles, the model presented the award in a plunging black ball gown, after slipping into a racy number as she hit the red carpet.

The brunette’s gown showed plenty of skin through two slits across the stomach, and also featured a long train which completed her grand get up. 

Winnie matched her outfit with a set of black stiletto heels, and she accessorised with an elegant string of pearls around her neck and a pair of diamond earrings. 

The beauty wore her midnight tresses in flowing waves that hung all the way down to her hips, and a slick of red lipstick accentuated her natural beauty.

This dress was diagonally striped in pastel orange, green and pink tones, and featured another dramatic train. 

The 2014 ANTM star accessorised this second look with an elegant diamond necklace and diamond earrings.

She smiled at the camera, clearly overjoyed to be asked to present an award at the ceremony.          

The 2020 EMAs were hosted by Little Mix’s Jade Thirlwall, Perrie Edwards and Leigh-Anne Pinnock. 

Perrie, 27, Jade, 27, and Leigh-Anne, 29, will also perform their latest single Sweet Melody from their new album Confetti during the socially-distanced event, filmed in different locations around the world.

Jesy Nelson was meant to co-host the show with her bandmates but was forced to pull out due to illness.

The singer was also absent from the final of the group’s talent show Little Mix: The Search which aired on Saturday.  

A statement released to MailOnline on Saturday read: ‘Jesy is unwell and will not be appearing on tonight’s final of Little Mix The Search. She will also not be hosting or performing at tomorrow’s MTV EMA’s.’

The virtual and socially-distanced MTV EMAs 2020…

The socially-distanced and pre-recorded event saw a star-studded line-up from across the world with appearances from  Los Angeles, London and Canada.   

Little Mix hosted the show, without member Jesy Nelson who had been taken ill. They girls appeared on a computer generated stage within the ‘stadium’.  

Most of the show was filmed in advance on November 1. 

The ceremony was held at a virtual stadium which was  full of waving and cheering fans. 

Alicia Keys performed her new song from Los Angeles, Maluma sang from a penthouse in Miami, while David Guetta went all out from a stage built in the pool of the Széchenyi Bath in Hungary. 

Acts stood two metres apart from one another for their glamorous photocalls. 

K-pop superstars BTS were the big winners, taking home a whopping four prizes.

The South Korean boyband thanked their fans virtually as they dominated in the Best Song for Dynamite, Best Group, Best Virtual Live and Biggest Fans categories.

The show hosts were also triumphant as they picked up the Best Pop and Best UK and Ireland Act awards.

Meanwhile, Lady Gaga was named Best Artist and DJ Khaled was awarded Best Video for Popstar, his much-loved track featuring Drake and Justin Bieber.

WAP rapper Cardi B reigned supreme in the Best Hip Hop category, while Coldplay won Best Rock and Hayley Williams snagged the award for Best Alternative.

Colombian singer-songwriter Karol G was in great spirits as she scooped accolades for the Best Latin act and the Best Collaboration for Tusa with Nicki Minaj. 

Best Push was presented to Yungblud, while rapper Doja Cat, who opened the show with a captivating rendition of Say So, took the Best New prize.

Formula One ace Lewis Hamilton awarded the Video For Good prize trophy to H.E.R. for I Can’t Breathe, after giving a speech addressing the unifying force music provides, offering hope, solidarity and comfort during an challenging year. 

The Best Electronic gong went to critically-acclaimed DJ David Guetta, who performed Let’s Love live for the first time with Raye while immersed in a waterfall of lights at the Szechenyi Baths in Budapest.
