Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani are ‘extremely excited’ to be getting married.
The couple announced on Tuesday that they are to wed after five years of dating, and while thanking pastor Rick Warren for his message of congratulations on Twitter, they further shared how thrilled they are with the news.
‘Thank you sir. We are extremely excited!’ said the 44-year-old country crooner. Gwen also retweeted Blake’s message and added: ‘@RickWarren we love u!! thank u! gx.’

The 51-year-old singer had confirmed her engagement news on both Instagram and Twitter with a photo showing off her new ring while she shared a kiss with the ‘God’s Country’ hitmaker.
She captioned her post: ‘@blakeshelton yes please!’
And Blake shared the same image, where he added: ‘Hey @gwenstefani thanks for saving my 2020… And the rest of my life. I love you. I heard a YES!’
The big announcement comes just weeks after the No Doubt alum said she thought it was ‘pretty cute’ when people referred to Blake as her husband.

She said at the time: ‘Do you know how many people say my ‘husband’ about him? I guess we’re just together. People got used to it or something like that. But it’s pretty cute.’
The happy couple first fell in love on the set of The Voice in 2015, where they bonded over their shared heartbreak as they had each recently endured a divorce, with Gwen splitting from Gavin Rossdale – with whom she has Kingston, 14, Zuma, 12, and Apollo, six – and Blake ending his marriage to Miranda Lambert.
Speaking about their bond, Blake once said: ‘When you’re where she and I were, and you just feel so betrayed and on bottom, this bond that we formed when we found out what each other were going through, it’s still there.’

A source told People they became engaged over the weekend while in Oklahoma.
Gwen had on a red-and-white print shirt with jeans and a trucker cap as Blake was equally as casual in a brown button-down shirt, jeans and a cap. They appeared to be in a stone castle with a stained glass window.
This comes after the two revealed they have been spending all of their time together in lockdown.
They had been living with her three children at his ranch in Oklahoma and this month finally settled into their new $13million home in Los Angeles.
She was happy to report that it’s ‘nonstop creativity’ living with her country star beau and kids from her ex-husband Gavin Rossdale.

‘We just moved. It’s exciting,’ Stefani said while on a Zoom call earlier this month. ‘Yesterday we did Halloween decorating and cookies. It’s nonstop creativity over here.’

Shelton made sure to clarify: ‘I found a lion’s mane mushroom, which I have watched videos about on YouTube many a time with Zuma. We’ve watched people find these things, take them home and cook them. I blasted it up, fried it and didn’t die. I didn’t see Jesus or anything.’

The couple are working on season 19 of The Voice, which will include new safety measures and go without a studio audience.
Gwen noted that the empty set ‘feels more intimate somehow. I feel like we’re even more relaxed. There’s so much talent this season, it’s crazy,’ she added.
‘We’re so lucky to be here and watch live music in front of us. I feel so inspired.’
While she didn’t coach season 18, she said: ‘My little brother Todd was the one doing all of the technical stuff. So even though I wasn’t on that season, I felt like I was.’
