Melissa Leong trades her polished ensembles for a relaxed look in isolation

MasterChef judge Melissa Leong trades her polished ensembles for a more relaxed look as she rides out Melbourne’s stage four lockdown

She was quickly labelled a fashion icon by fans during her first season judging MasterChef Australia this year.

And on Friday, Melissa Leong traded her polished on-screen ensembles for a more relaxed look, as she rides out Melbourne’s stage-four coronavirus restrictions.

Sharing a photo to her Instagram account, the 38-year-old food critic looked every inch the comfortable star in a grey cashmere sweater and matching pants.

‘Peak iso luxury sloth level: unlocked,’ she playfully wrote in the post’s caption.

The Channel Ten star got comfy on a blue velvet sofa, and shot a sultry gaze at the camera.

It comes just weeks after Melissa shared a selfie while dressed in an orange turtleneck jumper, accessorised with a Swarovski crystal studded black face mask.

On MasterChef, Melissa has worn an array of designer clothes that most of us can only dream about.

One of the first looks that caught fans’ attention was an orange Ted Baker mini-dress, worn during one of the show’s early outdoor shoots.

Melissa paired the bold frock with a $39.95 wide-brimmed straw boater hat by Piper, tying the ribbon around her chin for a vintage look.

Melissa and her stylist Charmaine De Pasquale clearly have a love for Ted Baker, styling multiple looks from the designer across the first half of the season.

Embracing 1970s style, Melissa donned a beige Alice McCall jumpsuit worth $495 in late April, which featured large puffed sleeves, a bold collar and a broderie floral design.

To break up the cream tones, Melissa styled a chunky tan-coloured belt with a tortoise-shell clasp from Seed Heritage, retailing for $59.95.

Melissa also opted for more casual ensembles, including $295 the wide-leg jeans with contrasted white stitching from Alice McCall, which she paired with a simple black three-quarter sleeve top.

Melissa previously told 10Play she loved fans’ reactions to her style, and how they understood she is a multi-faceted person.

‘I am flattered that so many people have resonated with my style and that beauty and fashion standards in the media continue to grow in their inclusivity and reflection of the real world,’ Melissa said.

‘To be considered part of the fashion zeitgeist is fun, but it will never steal my focus from my qualifications as a food writer, presenter and communicator,’ she added.
